Dr Michele Glacken, Head of Department of Nursing, Health Sciences and Disability Studies

Michele is a registered nurse and midwife. she completed her PhD (Nursing) in 2000. She has held the position of the Head of Department since 2004. Prior to working in St. Angeles College she worked in Trinity College, Dublin and the University of Ulster, Northern Ireland.

These modules are at undergraduate and post graduate level. She is an active researcher and has participated in research that has addressed such areas as the Grief for LBGT persons; fatigue management in the practice areas and spirituality. Currently, Michelle is involved in research exploring mental health in young persons aged 12-25 years. She has supervised research students to doctoral level.
In her free time, Michelle has a keen interest in art.
