Colaiste San Aingeal

Category: Holiday Activities, Junior Activity Camps, Colaiste San Aingeal
Duration: 2 weeks
Start Date: No camp 2018

Since 2011, the CLL has offered a wide range of holiday activities for children. This has led to increased awareness of the College within the Sligo community. Despite the popularity and community engagement role of these programmes, the CLL has taken the decision not to run any children's holiday activites for summer 2018.

This decision was not taken lightly. the resource requirements and the strategy for such holiday programming will be reviewed as part of the College's wider community engagement initiatives during 2018, with the anticipation that a suite of summer activities will be offered again in 2019.

I can understand the disappointment and indeed the inconvenience this may cause, so please accept my apologies. We hope that in years to come the College will be in a position to offer a range of engagement initiatives to the wider community.

Kind regards,

Dr Maria Gallo,

Colaiste San Aingeal is a two week intensive Irish course. The primary focus of the course is to develop students speaking and listening skills in preparation for the Junior Certificate exam.  Through a range of classroom and activity based learning we encourage the students to use the language in lots of different settings and situations.

Students will be assessed on Day 1 of the Colaiste and progress will be monitored daily. On completion of the course, written feedback will be sent to parents/guardians. Our Colaiste is run to a very high standard and all facilitators are highly qualified and experienced Irish teachers.

Parents/guardians and students will be required to sign a contract agreeing to Colaiste rules for the 2 week duration. Students who consistently do not adhere to Colaiste rules will not be permitted to attend. It must, however, be stressed that Colaiste san Aingeal will enhance students Irish ability and will also be great fun!
