The courses in academic or general English aims to help and prepare overseas students attain the required level of English for undergraduate third level education in Irish universities and colleges. The timeframe of the course will vary depending on your level of English and the required level for your academic course.  The course can be taken from 4 to 25 week duration.  You will be asked to complete a placement test and submit a recent International English test score to assess your level of English. This will help us determine how many weeks you will be need to attend to achieve the level required for your future academic studies or standard you require. 

As a general rule the following will offer you an indiaction of the number of weeks you may require:

B2+ IELTS 6.5 10 weeks
B2 IELTS 6.0 20 weeks
B1+ IELTS 5.5 25 - 30 weeks

How many hours per week will I attend classes?

Classes are held monday - Thursday in the mornings from 8.50 - 12.55 with a minimum of 15 hours’ tuition per week.  Our EAP course is taught by tutors who understand the skills and knowledge that you require for academic success.

Will there be someone to show me the college and help me to find my way around?

We organise an induction in the first week to help you settle into your new surroundings and become involved with local clubs and social events.
